Going Deeper…

…is not something you are designed to do by your“self.”  Our “false self” is an idol of ourselves attempting to live out a lie that we are a god in control of our own lives separate from God(F,S,S). We cannot discover who God(F,S,S) created us to be by excluding the Relationship of God(F,S,S) from being central to our identity. The Relationship of God(F,S,S) in the Holy Spirit invites all of us to join this journey of discovery back to who God(F,S,S) created us to be. Excluding God(F,S,S) and people from our process is a part of what keeps us lost. Participating in this dialogue of who you really are (your Original Me) is first learning to accept and embrace God’s invitation for us to transform to who God says we already are in the Relationship of God(F,S,S), and second a revelation of compassion that other all people (red, yellow, black or white) are also invited by God into this same transformation.

Going deeper is about entering into an honest conversation with ourselves, God(F,S,S) and other people about the fullness of God(F,S,S)’s nature revealed in Jesus as the revelation of who God created us to be. Jesus is the revelation (identity) of who God created us to be. We participate in the Relationship of God(F,S,S) as we participate in our ONEness with&in Jesus.

DEEPER looks closer at our understanding of God’s Presence and Theological Origins of how I and many others have ended up where we are at theologically speaking. My personal journey’s experience is mostly from Protestant Traditions (most notably: Assemblies of God, Baptist, Methodist, Church of Christ, Neo-Reformed Non-Denominational – Keller, Piper, etc…) with more significant contributions from other traditions such as Messianic-Judaism and Orthodox Christianity.

If you have no religious background and you are just interested in understanding more about how much God loves you, please do not let any of the Church or theological jargon dissuade you from continuing on this journey of discovering who God created you to be. Please know that there are many of us who do have a “churched” background in which we have some man-made baggage that sometimes needs to be unpacked before we can move forward on our journey. Don’t we all have some man-made baggage to unpack, even if it is “church” related or not? Please be patient with us in our unpacking some of ours.

There may also be some people from my Chruch traditions (the Protestant Traditions) that will reflexively reject the contributions from Messianic-Judaism or Orthodox Christianity. If you find yourself as one of them, please resist the temptation to label something that makes you uncomfortable as “not Christian.” Consider that it is likely that the theological position that you hold dear could be the one that is more in question. You may ask, “how can this be?” Possibly because we hold it because that is what we’ve been taught all our lives?

Maybe we should be more willing to ask where the teaching came from? (Most people don’t have time for that.) I’m sharing that thought hopefully not to create a “your wrong” if you disagree atmosphere, but to humbly ask that you consider that what I’m sharing may be an insight to share with you that God is inviting you to reconsider. I don’t know? I’m not anyone’s judge in that. I am writing this out of Joyful obedience. I do believe God is with us in the Holy Spirit to love us through our uncomfortableness. I am asking that you guard against the temptation to automatically reject what is making you uncomfortable. Please remember that Paul (Saul) was uncomfortable with the revelation of Jesus until the experience on the road to Damascus. Saul (afterwards Paul) had to rethink (reimagine) everything he thought he knew about God and scripture. I’m not suggesting your experience is or needs to be as dramatic as Paul’s. I’m only asking for you to be open to considering that the Holy Spirit may be giving you another invitation as your reading this.
